Lean Systems Engineering
Systems engineering enriched with the Lean Agile mindset
Systems Engineering (SE) is a proven method for developing complex (hard-and software) systems with multidisciplinary teams. It ensures that you make a high quality product that meets the demands of the customer or the business. We see that organizations that are switching to Systems Engineering are not always able to implement this improvement properly. Applying SE then feels like a lot of administrative work and it does not promote collaboration between multiple disciplines. One of the reasons for this is the lack of good process-oriented methods to make hard-and software disciplines work together.
What is Lean Systems Engineering?
Lean Systems Engineering (LSE) is a philosophy in which Systems Engineering is enriched with the Lean-Agile mindset. It is an approach that fits in with the more iterative and set-based development of robust, high-quality solutions. LSE improves the interaction between different disciplines (e.g. hard- and software), the flow of the work and the way in which (sub)solutions are integrated and tested. This makes LSE an important success factor to be able to deliver high-quality solutions that meet customer requirements in an ever-changing world.
Systems Engineering training courses
The Lean Systems Engineering training courses are designed for (Systems) engineers, project leaders, project managers, asset managers and other roles that want to learn how to apply Systems Engineering in an Agile environment.
We always combine theory and practice by letting participants practice with a real case. We can also tailor your training by incorporating a case from your organization. As a result, you immediately build up practical experience.
Workshop First Introduction to Systems Engineering
In this half-day workshop we take you into the world of SE in a fun way. We introduce the basic principles of SE and discuss the benefits of SE. On the basis of this workshop, you can, for example, decide as an organization to further investigate whether you want to implement SE in your organization.
Training Systems Engineering
Systems engineering is essential in product development and management. It is important for clients who want to ask the right question to the market and for contractors who want to understand the question as well as possible and who want to develop a demonstrably good product.
In this two-day training you will learn to deal with requirements and the amount of them. You will learn to understand the problem and need of your customer and identify appropriate solutions that fill this need. Techniques such as function analyses, describing the system and the system context will help you to understand the need and search for possible solutions together. You learn how to prove as early as possible that you are developing the right product (Verification and Validation).
Training Lean Systems Engineering
Lean Systems Engineering is the solution to the disadvantages we now see when organizations implement Systems Engineering. It allows for iterative collaboration between disciplines (hard-and software) and focuses on what in the process really adds value.
This two-day training provides answers to how Systems Engineering and the world of Lean-Agile can connect. We elaborate on the principles of Lean and Agile and provide concrete solutions to how to apply process improvements within Systems Engineering, based on these principles. If desired, we tailor the training to the ways of working of your organization. As a result, the threshold for applying what has been learned in practice becomes even smaller.
